hard time with unichip answers !!
I want to buy a used unichip (cant pay for a new one) but I dont know about the stages. The info I need dosent seem to be on vishnu's site nor txs's site. As of now I have a blow of valve and my silencer has been removed, I am also thinking of getting a downpipe. So what stage should I get? The vishnu stage zero comes with an exhaust, ic hoses and some other stuff aswell. Does this mean that a stage zero will not work on my car? I think a stage subzero is for completely stock does this mean that that wont work on my car either? and im pretty sure it's the same type of deal for txs but I cant find out because they dont make unichips anymore.
So my question is WHAT DO I DO???

My unichip started as a TurboXS stage I and it worked fine with my Cobb catback and K&N drop-in filter. I had FIS dyno tune it after about a week and got an additional 10-12hp out of the tuning. The lower stages, 0-1, should work fine, but a good dyno tune will definitely help.

The stages are the same. A unichip stage 0 is the same as a ecutek reflash stage 0. Same goes for TurboXS. However YOU MUST call ahead of time to schedule a reflash of your chip and see what premade maps they have available.
You can also as stated, go to an authorized dastek unichip dealer/tuner to get tuned. You do not have to get a map from the seller of the chip(turboxs, vishnu, etc)

I have had a Unichip, which I replaced for the following reasons:
When the temperature dropped to below 20 F, the car would get VERY difficult to start. After investigation I found that the Unichip did not reproduce the crank angle sensor (CAS) signal correctly, which in my opinion is the source of the problems. Vishnu once posted a few explanations about this problem, stating that the signal with the Unichip was basically a spike as opposed to the sinusoidal shape of the original CAS sensor.
Apart from low ambient temperatures the thing performed quite well. Since you are in New Brunswick, I would be a bit apprehensive about winter performance.
FYI I sold it to a guy in Hawai, who should not have any problems with it unless we get into the next ice age.
