fuel cut off question
most likely, you will loose boost in all gears, ... you're turning the boost down.
When I asked what unichip you're using, I meant where did you buy it from? And How is it hooked up? Are you using a Vishnu PnP harness, or TurboXS?
What 'conditions' are you hitting boost cut? Are you rolling on the throttle on the highway? as you said you're only hitting it in 4th and 5th? what is your boost set at normally? And exactly how much 'overboost' are you getting?
like I said before, you can buy a Vishnu EMI Adapter or fuel cut defender that will solve your problem.

the unickip im using is Dastek its a piggyback system and comes with a wireing harness that spliced into the factory ECU wires, it just barely hit the cut off if im WOT in fourth for more that 3 sec. very fustrating when im wanting to pass slow cars and have to drop it into 3rd and rev out to pass or back off the throttle in fourth and pass slowly, i don't care about 5th gear cuz i doubt ill ever need to be WOT in 5th, my boost is supposed to be at 17 or 18 (1.3 bar) but on cold nights or with weight in the car it goes slightly over, so will the fuel cut defender work with Dastek unichip?

The stock ECU has a boost limit of about 17 PSI, so when it sees that it will fuel cut. The only good solution is to remap the ECU, adding on piggy backs and what not are not the greatest idea's. The maps in the stock ECU are not meant to go above 15 PSI, if they do, there is a section of the MAP that adds lots of fuel and pulls a lot of timing, though it might feel faster it is not optimized by any means. Just something to think about.

I think I am having this problem... I'm sorry to bring back such a dead *** topic, but my car boosts at 22 PSI and it starts misfiring with the turbo xs utec... and then when I come back down to idle it throws a **** load of white smoke, my friend has informed me that the base map is throwing way too much fuel in and that's the reason for the white smoke and the misfires. So if someone could clearify this I would really appreciate it.
