hey guys i was wondering if it is ok to put a fmic on my car if i am still using the stck turbo? will that harm my car or will it not do anything at all?

 

youll get some lag, but it wont hurt.

 

i have heard from some people that it is not a good idea.what should i do?

He is right, it won't hurt your car but it may hurt performance by increasing lag. If you are planning on upgrading your turbo - you will have to upgrade your IC anyway - might as well do it now. If anything, you will have more efficient cooling = less detonation!

 

Im running a TXS FMIC on the stock turbo. Its not tuned or anything. Just running a stage 2 base map right now. Im not getting any knock so I don't think its hurting anything. Im going to hold off on the turbo upgrade and tune until I rebuild my tranny with RA gears, new syncros (4th and 5th are going out), etc. Its not really any faster or slower according to track times. Maybe only a slight more lag. I can still hit full boost by 2900 RPMs.
