FCD installed, but it doesnt work...HELP!

FCD installed, but it doesnt work...HELP!
Ok, well this isn't my car, but I installed it so bare w/ me if I dont know what you may be reffering to.
Anyway, I wired up to the MAF under the bay...The instructions said ground, so I tapped off the MAF ground.
Said red was switched power, so I put it on the yellow/blue wire on the MAF(read switched 12v on my multimeter).
Then it said to tap the MAF signal wire...so I found a wiring diagram and it said "PINK/BLUE" but i peeled back the tape, and it looked like it was a shielded wire.
Then, with the MAF unplugged and the car idling, it said the signal wire should read between .3-4.5 volts....I found it, and it was the second wire in from the right. Cut it in half, sent the yellow FCD wire toward ECU and other to MAF.
Anyway, no luck...setting was at 10 and didnt work so we put it on 7. Still fuel cut at 16psi.
Where did i go wrong??? Any help is welcome, thank you!!
