EQ Tuning results

Well, I made the switch from UTEC to EcuTek. Ed with EQTuning did an awesome job. He pulled some strong, consistant numbers. My rex runs smooth all the way to 7,350rpm! Lots of torque! 292.2whp / 264.6 ft lbf.

In case you're wondering, here's a short list of my mods.

vf39
jdm sti injectors
stage II cylinder heads
Walbro fuel pump
cold air intake
catless uppipe
catless turbo-back exhaust
Also running on 96-97 octane

That is amazing. Almost 300Hp to the wheels. What are your 1/4 mile times like? Any kill stories you'd like to share...

Before the cylinder heads and tuning I was in the high 12's. Haven't been to the track since the tune though.

Nothing exciting on the kill stories. Just the usual honda or mitsu that has to rev on me at lights. I usually don't mind showing them how a real car performs though.

What do "stage II" heads entail? Just port and polish, or cams and valvetrain work? Did you alter the compression ratio?

According to Jeromey, the heads were ported and polished with better valves. AFAIK, the cams and compression ratio remain stock.

Thanks

BTW... this was with the stock tmic and a custom downpipe that's less than ideal. With a bigger IC and a nice DP this car shouldn't have much trouble breaking 300whp.

Thanks

By mixing pump gas with 100 octane or toluene most likely.

Yeah, as stated I mix. I usually mix 75% 100 octane with 91. And this car is not my daily driver. That would be too expensive!

Basic porting and polishing. Exhaust ports enlargened. Intake was also polished and port-matched with the heads. Racing valves with titanium internals. Lots of customizing to the valves along with other stuff I don't quite grasp the understanding! Left the cams alone. That would have been another $1,100 +. Maybe next time when I blow the motor!

No blowing the motor!
Just make sure all of your hoses are clamped tight
