Cobb AP on 05STi running CA Stage 1 (overboosting?)

I live in CA and am running the CA Fuel Stage 1 map. I don't have a boost gauge, however, i was reading realtime boost numbers through the AccessPort. Well i normally do around 16.4 - 16.7, however, there are times when i read 17 - 17.1. I don't think i experience any pinging that i can tell. In addition to the access port i have a 3in Greddy Evo exhaust. Are these normal boost readings?

Buddy of mine said to read boost in 3rd - 5th gear and see what happens...did that this morning and running around 16 - 16.5 PSI and short spikes to 17.1 still.

not sure it was an x-mas gift...they typically go for $600 though...i think the person purchased it directly from COBB (www.cobbtuning.com). Hope that helps.
