I think I might have an old mechanical boost gauge you can have. It's a POS but it reads within 1PSI accuracy.

I'm not trying to mess with it, I just want to get the stock stuff on there so my car will hit normal 14.5psi like it should. I pretty much just have up + tbe on my 02 wrx swap, most everything else is stock.

However I put my previous setup of the T connector from osh and the hoses from before and the car drives good, still not sure if its stock boost though... probably not. (most likely less)

My next step is to order the oem hoses and clamps that go with the oem T and restrictor pill. If the car won't drive normally after that then I have no other ideas.

mcdrama can you bring that boost gauge with you to Hammy? I would like to use it for a few weeks while I sort this problem out.

Alright, I hooked up the boost gauge and sure enough with it is only hitting ~8psi when I tested in a 3rd gear pull. I have the oem hoses on order that run from the compressor through the T and to the wastegate. Once that stuff comes in I'll get it installed with the pill and oem T and try again to see if I can get at least to stock level.

Today I reinstalled the OEM T, restrictor pill along with the new OEM hoses and hose clamps I just recieved.

The car is hitting ~14psi now but still acting the same way as before. Getting that surging or uneven pulling.

CEL flased for a bit just like before but went away so I was unable to scan it.

I don't really know what to do now.

I noticed one other thing today.

The right side bolt hole for my bov is stripped. So the left bolt is tightened all the way and the right is only slightly more than hand tight.

Could a leaky bov cause the symptoms I'm getting and cause the flashing cel?

Next step I think will be to borrow someones stock ic to make sure I get no bov leaks and try this again.

Yes if your BOV is loose, you will have a boost leak. Air drawn past the MAF is then discharged into the atmosphere, but the ECU still adds the fuel. So you get a SUPER rich condition and start dropping spark and miss firing. Sounds like you found your problem.
