AP Questions
Right now I have just a gutted uppipe and the intake silencer bypass thingie(not that it does anything performancewise). The other day I ordered an accessport as well as a Invidia g200 catback and helix catted DP. I live in Tennessee so my car gets to sip 93 octane. After I get the turboback on, as I understand it, I should be at Stage 2.
My first question resolves around which base map to flash. I have heard of people having problems with slight detonation when using the off the shelf maps so would I be safer flashing the Stage 2 91 octance map as the base map and then trying the 93 octane map as a realtime map and checking for detonation, or vice versa...or does it really matter?
Second question, will having a gutted uppipe on the car affect the base maps for the accessport in a negative fashion, or will the ecu account for that difference?
As a side note...before anyone says anything about getting a custom tune...the closest awd dyno is 4 hours away(but they dont have a protuner) so I eventually plan on getting the streettuner thing and getting it tuned...but that is a bit down the road.
Oh yea, car is an 05 Wagon with about 1200 miles in case that matters.

Using 93octane on the 91 map would give you headroom for pinging/detonation, but since you're lucky enough to get 93 at the pump I would use that map for more performance. And if it does ping then you can switch maps later, you will probably be fine.

according to cobb a gutted or aftermarket up pipe is within the learning parameters of either stage 1 or 2...so there should be no negagtive effects

i am planning to get a AP.... i got questions(sorry to intrude on this thread) well i got a greddy(airnix) intake, helix up/dp, hks HIPER catback, and HKS BOV for my setup. where would this put me? is there a map for this....or something close to this that i can run? i know using the stock air intake box and recirc valve is better to run according to cobb. does anybody run something close to my setup that has AP?

so i am in the stage two then..... i guess i got to get swap my bov with my stock one. damn.... thats what i thought about the intake.. thanks for info!

I have an 05 STi with TBE and SRI and I use the AP Stage 2 91 oct base map and then run the 93 oct real time map on top of this since I can get 93 oct regularly. I have had no detonation or pinging problems. I actually am running rich even with the intake. You shouldn't have any problems with this setup on your 05 wagon.
