Question Access ECU or Accessport same thing?

Ok, i finally decided to get an EM for my car....i was going to go with UTEC, but dont have time for all that tunning.
I've been reading nothing but good stuff about this COBB device. Reading on and on and checking out there website i see this ACCESSPORT thing that just came out or is about to come out.
I know ACCESSECU is where i have to remove my OEM ECU and send it to COBB and they'll reflash it and send it back to me. So is ACCESSPORT a device that i dont have to send in my OEM ECU, just buy it and plug it and i'll be able to reflash it with the maps that come installed in the device?

It started shipping out on Feb. 27t. Cobb is taking orders, but there are a lot of preorders so you'll probably have to wait a while if you order it now.

I pre-ordered mine on first day of pre-ordering and I've just received mine the other day! I must say that it is very well made and that Cobb definately knows a thing or 2 about how Subarus work

The car runs very smooth!

All I can say is that if this is how the AccessPort is (based on the AccessECU) I am definately upgrading to the AccessPort STREET TUNER version (Like the UTEC but suppositly better and having more features according to what they've posted)

So the Access port come preprogramed with (5) maps????

-2 Normal Octane 93

-3 Normal Octane 91

-4 Low octane 87

-5 Valet mode

So basically you set it to either of those choices and you get instant power increase????

How do you know which map to use???

if you buy the AccessPort then you DO NOT need to send them your ECU for reflashing. You will be purchasing a HANDHELD ECU flashing device for your WRX. The AccessPort will come preloaded with maps and you can download other maps for Cobbs website. Please see this thread: https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...threadid=51530 for the type of maps that Cobb has available.

If you go with the AccessECU then you'll have to send Cobb your ECU EVERYTIME you make a major change to your ride.

The best of the 2 is the AccessPort since you can just download the maps yourself and flash it when you have the time.
