The new Helix V3 Uppipe is designed primarily for use on the newer 2.5L Subaru turbocharged motors. It features a larger 2.3” diameter and external port for a 38-42mm external wastegate. The larger 2.3 diameter piping is well suited for big-power blot-on turbos (such as the Helix RR500 turbo) because it allows for greater exhaust gas velocity at the turbine nozzle. SMC Alcohol / Methanol Injection Packages

Designed to be a hassle free upgrade, this package includes everything you need to get alcohol injection running properly on your car. Although many people are “scared” of alcohol injection, if utilized properly, it is perfectly safe while also being one of the best bang for the buck power adders available for a boosted car. Alcohol injection works by injecting a fine mist of alcohol into the intake stream. This does two important things:

1) Alcohol Injection lowers the temperature of the intake charge to create a denser (and thus greater) air mass.

2) Alcohol Injection raises the effective octane of your fuel which works towards avoiding detonation (the sworn enemy of engines).


These two factors are particularly beneficial on turbocharged cars because the effectiveness of turbocharging is dependent on having a dense and cool intake charge while also avoiding detonation. Boosted engines are particularly succeptable to detonation because they can see such high pressures and temperatures. By increasing the effective octane of your fuel, it allows you to run higher boost and add more timing advance. It is not uncommon to see HP gains as high as 20-30% with these changes, regardless of modifications. Additionally, two added bonuses of alky injection are that it also cleans your engine and will work with pump gas.

The SMC Alcohol Injection System is unique, reliable, and safe in several regards. Designed from the ground up specifically for the Subaru WRX and STi, this system includes a 1 gallon washer fluid tank that serves as a reservoir. This makes for a very simple and stealthy install. A small auxilliary washer tank/pump that mounts in front of the battery is also included so that you can still clean your windshield. Another unique feature of this kit is the Progressive Controller. An extremely small unit that can be fitted nearly anywhere (it measures only 2.75" wide x .9" high x 4.6" deep), this microprocessor based device will automatically increase alcohol spray pressure as boost rises. This system runs on denatured alcohol that can be bought nearly anywhere.

As is wise when running high boost levels, tools critical to tuning are highly recommened to be used in conjunction with this kit. A wide-band 02 controller, knock link, and tuning are suggested.

Gruppe-S 2.5L Stage 2 Shortblock - $3599 + Shipping

We are pleased to announce the release of our second generation Stage 2 2.5L Short Block. The GS650 exemplifies all of our experience building and tuning high horsepower race and street engines. The GS650 has been installed on daily-driven cars that make over 600HP on the street, safely and reliably. These are the same cars that drive to the track, run sub-11 second times and are driven home. This block is capable of maxing out the GT35R turbo (ask MARKGSTI ).

The GS650 starts life as a regular STI shortblock. First we replace the weak hyper-cast stock pistons with custom spec forged units (coated). Not only are the pistons significantly stronger than the stock units the pistons are substantially lighter too. We then address the connecting rods. The rods are replaced with Helix forged H-beam rods held together with ARP L-19 bolts. The super-strong forged rods coupled with the best rod bolts available on the market allow for high RPM operation. The crankshaft is then modified with our proprietary techniques creating a crankshaft similar to the $2000 STI race crankshaft used on the WRC cars. The bearings are swapped out in favor of Gruppe-S coated race bearings. This addresses all the common main failure points of the stock STI 2.5 engine – spun bearings, cracked pistons, and damaged rods.

The entire assembly is then balanced. Piston walls are bored and honed, all tolerances are triple checked, and the assembly is professionally assembled. The end result is a big power engine that is capable of 8500 RPM operation* and holding 650 crank HP. That’s right, 165 HP PER A CYLINDER. The GS650 is purposely built to tight tolerances for street operation. You will not experience excessive oil consumption and you will not have a rocking issue with our pistons.

Yes, it does come with a flange cover and will fit on all 02+ Impreza's.

Hmmm, SOA says that the STi does come with an oil cooler

I was out of Subaru of Santa Cruz and the tech guys there were showing me the oil cooler on the 05 STi. It is right before the oil filter and has a couple lines coming off of it. So, it does come with a factory oil cooler. I was about to buy the oil cooler from you but now I'm not sure...

So I am questioning your guys write up on the gruppe-s oil cooler. Are you saying that this is a better performing oil cooler? or...

It's a strech to call that an oil cooler. What the tech showed you is a crude heat exchanger. It has very little cooling capacity compared to a proper oil cooler with an air to liquid tube and fin core. I would not even compare the two to one another but I apologize if you feel that we have mis-informed you. If you'd like more information on either the stock heat exchanger or our oil cooler and the benefits of both, please let us know.
