An STI got towed in with a blown motor that was built by another shop. Upon dis-assembly, we found one of the exhaust AVCS cam gears was installed improperly and caused the advance-return spring to break. This bent a handful of valves and destroyed a rod bearing in the process. Now we are fully rebuilding this engine the right way.

Bump...

All of our no-core pricing listed includes all BRAND NEW parts including case, crank, rods, pistons, bearings, etc. We never use "re-conditioned" parts unless clearly noted and discussed with the customer or if the customer provides a core.

When starting with a used case, additional steps must be taken to ensure proper oil clearance on the main bearing housings. Most used cases have been beat up enough to throw some of the clearances out of spec. We are the only shop that does an actual line hone on the main bearing housings to bring them back in spec. We also measure each oil clearance at least twice.

So don't be fooled by cheaper advertised options that take short cuts, use used parts, don't measure, and don't perform the additional machine work required for a long lasting high performance engine. When you're getting an engine built, the last thing you want to do is cut corners to save a few hundred dollars. The end result ends up being much more expensive.

Thanks

bump... we're not the cheapest game in town, but we always strive to be the best. We have built over 250 Subaru engines and 99% of them are running strong to date!
