Alex,

Thanks for the detailed information on the 6 speed.

Many of us are in the "we're gonna need to seriously upgrade the complete drivetrain at some point down the road" boat, what with all the mods we've been doing.

Hopefully (maybe) with the coming of an STi WRX to the USA then the 6 speed will become somewhat less expensive ... just a hope!

I also very intersted in the STI 6MT. I shooting for 300-400 hp (budget more than anything) in my RS. Would the 6MT unit beable to cope well with the torque generated by a 2.5T? Also where would I get one? seeing as they have yet to bring the STI to america. If I were to try to acquire one, all said and done to my door step what is an approximate cost? Thanks to anyone who can help me answer these questions!

find someone who can get a hold of parts from wrecked cars from japan.

i hope it gets alot cheaper when the sti gets here. is the new sti use all the exact same parts. i hope so.

the rear diff on the STi is beafier and uses thicker axles than the US WRX, that's why you need the STi hubs. I'm not sure on if the brakes are needed though.
