Transmission problem with my new Outback?
I'm too damn lazy to do a search, so please forgive me.
I have an 04 Outback wagon, H6, 3.0, automatic transmission. I think I may have a transmission problem after only 7,000 miles. When I accelerate from a stop, it takes a while for the car to shift from 1st to 2nd, and when it finally does, it sort of "kicks" into 2nd gear. Not very smooth at all. Then, going from 2nd to 3rd, it shifts in timely manner, but the RPM shoot up to about 3500 for a second, before settling back down. Also, the automatic shifting in general is not smooth. It's very choppy. I never had this problem wiht the two Acuras I owned. WTF? Anyone else hear of this happening to the 04, or any other year for that matter? I have an appointment with the dealer Saturday, but I'm just wondering what you Subie experts think. Mucho thanks.
