Trans overfill causing leak and hard shifting.
Hey guys I'm new to the forum and subarus in general, I bought my 05 wrx less then 2 months ago and I noticed that the tranny oil was overfilled, then I noticed a leak (can post pics if needed, at work at the moment) not too sure when it happened. but now Im noticing hard shifting, should I replace the tranny oil with new stuff, or just lossen the drain bolt and let it dripple out till it's at a good level? Iv done a few searches on this and some were helpfull.
Thanks in advance, Gus

Since you don't know what is in there, I'd drain and refill. Use Swepco or maybe the "transmission cocktail" if Swepco is hard to find in your area. Don't use Redline. You'll also want to get the seal checked wherever it is leaking.

Lol, well I hope the guy put the right stuff in, I'll for sure change it out just because I have enough to do my diff and trans I'll just leave a bit of room in my trans and research a good additive if needed
