Trans & rear diff gear oil???

So im gonna change my trans & rear diff gear oil soon on my 06 sti. I found by google that 75w90 extra-s along with a bottle of syncro magic before hand is what subaru uses. I also read that the rear diff can take any brand of 75w90 synthetic or regular gear oil.

Anyone use any other brand? What have you guys used & what do you recommend? Thanks!

Some people use "Scotty's Cocktail" for which there are several variances in name. I believe that someone sent out a sample of this fluid for analysis and the results were pretty bad. Now, everyone seems to know that this will eventually ruin your transmission.

Another popular choice is Redline lightweight shockproof. This stuff seems to be safe and people have good results. A few people have also done 3qt redline and 1qt regular 75w-90. Not sure what the reasoning is for the 1qt of regular but apparently this is the "professional recommended" route.

do some searches on nasioc, iwsti, and maybe clubwrx.

FYI: this IS Scotty's Cocktail, the one i mentioned above. I would do some research on the oil analysis that was done before using this. Apparently after some period of time it turns acidic and causes issues.

I'm not saying this to knock anyone or start anything, just a warning that people have had issues with this mix and that you should do your own research and use at your own risk.
