Towing on Dollys?

A while ago I had my WRX towed, and the tow guy put it on a dolly because I said he couldn't just tow it normal. I just read on MySubaru that they say not to use dollys, only a flat bed or all 4 wheels on the ground. I'm wondering...why no dollys? And do you think I damaged the diffs at all by towing with the dollys?

Whats a dolly? and yes all 4 wheels need to be off the ground when towing .... if with this "dolly" thing 2 wheels were on the ground (rolling) and 2 weren't (static) then you probably damaged your diffs ...

That's what's weird...the dollys are these things with wheels on them that hold the rear wheels off the ground while the car is towed. So I figured, since none of the wheels were rolling, that it'd be cool. But then MySubaru.com says not to use them...basically I'm wondering if they're being paranoid about it or if something else is wrong with using dollys.
