i can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to to, it's simply a stronger and more rigid mount than the stocker. it'll transmit more noise/vibration than the stock WRX piece, as will the STi motor mounts. Cobb sells an upgraded transmission mount that doesn't look too much differant than the STi mount as part of their Stage One drivetrain kit. i haven't gotten one of these yet, but it's on my list of things to do (the STi piece, not Cobb).

Well I'd say its fine. The geometry reasoning is BS, because you would actually limit the movement of the drivetrain with the stiffer bushing.

EDIT: My dumb diagram got all messed up, I'll post a pic

So heres another opinion: STi tranny mount with stock mounts is fine, BUT they both drastically reduce flex, so if you are the type of person that wants the one, you would want the other. If the extra $100 for motor mounts is within the affordable range, just do them both.

Ok, from what I gather people say dont do one without the other becasue it can cause some funky driveline flex or induce some abnormal angle. To me that argument is impossible because by adding the STi mount on either end, you reduce the max angle that the driveline would be subject to:

Yes it is, plan for at least a 1.5 hour job on the mounts, and if you are a troll with large hands like I am, make that 3 hours. I If you do decide to do it yourself, make sure you buy a very long wrench, scoobymods shows how you can get around that by taping two wrenches together, but that method instantly adds 45 minutes.

Give me a call if you want help...
