I know that there is a reduced top speed (which I would probably never hit anyway) and reduction in mpg but is that it? I have a cracked trans case and need to replace it with something (insurance is paying for it) and from what I gathered, other than totally stock, a stock case with Spec RA gears is my only option. What's the biggest difference I would notice? Are there any other "downfalls" to that setup? Are there any vendors that sell the stock trans case with the RA gears already in for a bolt on option?
Thanks
Todd

haha, I tried driving in 4th on the freeway for a bit and wow, seems like your gas mileage will go kaput.

It's kinda hard to stay out of boost sometimes. I would imagine, unless you're driving 55mph or something, you'd be slightly boosting the whole way.

RA gears are abit more useful around town and regular driving, shifting through gears won't be as much of a chore due to closer ratios.

Talking

whoops, I forgot about flat roads n such.

Most of the freeways here have a little incline here and there which causes some boost, I really didn't mean to say you'd be boosting 24/7. My bad..

How is driving in 5th gear compared to the stock tranny? Is it annoying?
