No I doubt that they will hold up as well as a Us Spec tranny, actually there is no way they will...The US spec STI tranny is rated for 550 lb/ft of torque from the factory, or so I have read. The RA gear set is advertised as good for supporting cars making up to 350whp or so. But, I think if you are making that much power you are really really pushing the limits. But then again I have talked to guys making that on a stock tranny for a while before it breaks. I guess its all relative. Depends on the driving style. So if you really want a simple look on it, the STI will hold twice the power comfortably but at twice the cost, since your going to need the rear diff the axles and the rear brakes. and a bunch of other parts. I have seen it packaged that way but like I said $6000 is the ballpark range. I came across a good deal of EVERYTHING I needed to do the swap plus the STI wheels for $5200 because I am friends with the guy, but I didnt have that kind of money so I opted for the RA gear set and a clutch and flywheel for half the price. I figure if I drive it right and dont treat it like its an upgraded tranny it shoudl hold up just fine. And...with the thought of lots of compteting WRXs using the same gearset, adds reasurance.

ra gear sets will yes hold up to some pretty amazing power, basically like that of the 04+ us/ jdm spec trannys. but with the wrx m/t's the case they put before the bell (do not confuse me with an actual tranny pan which we're obviously not dealing with!) is weak. these cases under hi torque/ power applications tend to warp and bend which will in turn shift the position of the gears in the tranny in a bad way- that is what causes the gears to break (in most cases). I have seen this happen with a stock wrx tranny and the case bent and broke the gears. I've also seen this happen with wrx trannys with the ra gear sets the result was a warped case which moved the gears out of place but did not break them. the ra spec gears can stand a lot but the wrx tranny itself probably can't. if you're talking big power it makes sense if you have a wrx to go sti. the trans, its internals, the r180, hubs and axles can take quite a beating. but putting a lot of power thru a wrx with stock wrx axles, cv's, and diff considered etc, won't be terribly effective in getting your power to the ground.
