i recently grenaded the stock trans again, its time for an upgrade.
I was shopoping around and found the same ver 6 STi RA gearset at gruppe-s for 1199 then i found it at vivd racing for 1429 both say they are on backorder. Thats beside the point. I was speaking with Mike at Vivid, he says that the gruppe-s gearset is cheaper because its not complete. Has anyone out there bought this gearset from Gruppe-s or found it cheaper somewhere else let me know please.

I would suggest the list of parts you get with either set.

 

There is also the cost of installation/rebuilding the 5MT. Check outfits like RalliSpec, Ltd for the gearset and installation.

Just buy a service manual for $50. It explains step by step how to assemble one.

 

gruppe s tends to have better deals than everyone else around.

 

i have noticed this but i also spoke with mike at vivid and also with someone from rallispec and they both said that the gearset that gruppe-s sells is not complete. i haven't requested parts lists from all three yet, i will do this tomorrow.

I actually bought a ver7 six speed tody from gruppe-s b/c everywhere i called was on backorder for at least five weeks. I can't wait to get this though I'll let you guys know how i like in a couple weeks.

yeah vivid doesnt have the best track record.

 

The name is b/c of my experience having to deal with SOA, I'm sure you have read everyones horror stories.
