Speed sensor??? Help!!!!!!!

ok guys i have an 02 wrx. with an sti swap.. its fully built ect.ect. any who i have had my set up for 2 years now and last week when i was driving at 5k it seemed like it hit the rev limiter.. and now it does usually at 5k now so im asking if anyones knows could this be my speed sensor on my 6spd??? i got i used speed sensor from a buddy and it worked for a full pulls then it went back to the same thing almost like it goes to a limp mode or a fuel cut of some sort.. please help.. not sure thats going on here .. thanks for your time

It seems im late for a reply i apologize for this but i just want to share some information about it. Do you still have a problem with this or If this problem occurs again. I suggest that you go to auto shop and let them check you vehicle sensor, I think you have a problem with that and you need to replace is if they said so.
