Special tool for Impreza Axle R & R

Special tool for Impreza Axle R & R
I just bought a '93 Impreza L. I need to replace an axle, (torn boot,clicking)
Is a special tool required to remove the axle from the hub, on this model?
Is the axle nut 30 mm.
The Chilton & Hayes manual seem a bit vague on Impreza axles.
I've replace plenty of axles on Hondas & domestic models

Car Info: 2002 wrx wagon and 2002 suzuki sv650
I dont know about a 93 impreza but I just did one on a 1999 legacy wagon and the axle just slides out of the knuckle. There is a roll pin that holds the axle to the transmission
