i went with kartboy - $125 for the shifter and the stiffer bushing from boxer4racing.com.
No linkage required. Installs very easy (the bushing was simple).
I only drove it for a few minutes (to the transmission shop, unfortunately) but I love the feel. The bushing makes all the difference. Very notchy and precise.
