I have an 02 RS. I was driving the other day and went to shift into 3rd and the stick just broke loose... Well, i took the consul off to look at it, and found that at the base of the stick (NOT the rod that goes to the tranny) was a plastic ball that was held by a plastic encasement. I was wondering if any of you knew the "technical name" for this plastic encasement, is it easy to find via the dealership or transmission shops, how to install it, possible cost and if you have had any problems like this before. I really appreciate your help. My car is no longer under warranty so i need to do it myself. Thanks
