it involves taking apart your tranny and welding some parts of your center differential

(at least the best way i have seen it done so far)

^^^^Yea thats correct, theres no simple way like making the car FWD (putting in a fuse), however i did see that article some time ago and it was pretty spiffy that that guy could say he owned a RWD WRX although many would think that was kinda stupid.....I thought it was cool

Why stop there? He could get rid of the viscous limited slip in the rear and have basically one-wheel drive when the road gets slick.

I don't know if I'd call the conversion to rear-drive stupid but I don't have any use for it.

Yea, but running with the FWD fuse is not good, over time it will fry the center dif.

Also, I have read that RWD subies don't handle that great. I was thinking different sized sway bars might help a bit.

boy this is a poor idea, so what if you can say you have a RWD WRX, hell you can take out the rear end and drive shaft, then you can say you have a FWD WRX

Dont forget that guy blew his rear end by the end of that article, the R160 has been known to break when its only dealing with half the tourqe, how good do you think it will do with 100%?
