i just got Ra gears and and act street clutch installed. when i hit 2100rpm in third gear i get this rattling noise everytime. it doesnt happen in every gear just third. any idea what it could be? i just got the tranny and am still breaking it in keeping it under 4k rpm.

also i been hearing a grinding noise ( rubbing metal on metal) comming from and im not to sure what it could be. the rear brakes look alright. where else should i look? someone said it could be a wheel bearing or something. any ideas what it could be. dealership said the rear diff might be bad because the tranny went out.

 

Have you considered contacting the vendor about the noise? It's tricky diagnosing noises over the internet. If it only happens in 3rd gear, I would suspect the transmission itself. Does it make the rattling sound if you step in the clutch at that 3rd gear vehicle speed where you normally hear it? Try to determine whether it's vehicle speed-related or not.

i contacted gruppe-s they said bring in it monday but i have to leave today for work for 2 weeks in corning. 2100rpm in third is when i hear the rattling. when i push in the clutch the noise is gone. as the rpm raises and hits 2100 the rattle and after that its gone.
