Another gear grinding thread
When Im sitting at a light and shift to first, it grinds sometimes like everyone says. I have already had the clutch in for a while though, its not like I slam the clutch down and shift fast. There's enough time for everything to slow down.
It also happens when going from 2nd to 3rd. I make sure I have the clutch all the way down, and it's always touching the floor. When it grinds, I pull away and try putting it in again (without letting out clutch inbetween). It still grinds.
I also have trouble getting into first sometimes (no grinding, just won't go). This is VERY annoying because I will be sitting at a light and need to go when it turns gree but can't. It also is ****ty in stop-and-go traffic when I shift out of 1st to glide to a stop and then need to go but can get it in (when rolling, but very slowly).
Are my syncros bad? I would rather not bring it in to the dealer, but will if I need them replaced. They will replace them under the 60k mile powetrain warranty, right?

BTW, it's an 02 wrx with 57k miles and not many power mods (mainly just catback).
