Q: How to get a "tighter feel" while shifting?
I own a regular WRX, and didn't notice how...awkward (for lack of a better term,) the shifter felt after driving an STi for a little bit. I know this is not really a fair comparison, but the STi felt a lot tighter (and better) shifting through the gears. On my car, it feels looser going through the gears. Can anyone explain things for me? Also, what can I do to get the tighter feel that the STi's shifter (transmission?) has.
I did a little bit of research and saw shifter bushings as a possible solution. Does anyone have any input on how and how much it affects the shifting?
Any input would be appreciated.

I used to hate the way the shifter felt before I got my kartboy shifter...
I put in the kartboy and it felt slightly better but I still was not happy with it.
I got some Cusco shifter bushings and that helped a lot, it makes it feel more "crunchy" I guess you can say.
a combination of a short throw shifter and some shifter bushings will definatly solve your problem.

The Cusco bushings are close to the Kartboy's, The kartboy's polyurethane is a little more solid than the hard rubber that cusco uses. I would recomend the Kartboy's, they are a few bucks cheaper, and when added w/ the short throw shifter, they give the car a whole new "Feel" to drive.

couldn't really tell the difference between the 2....the only reason I got the cusco ones instead of the kartboy is b/c a friend was selling them cheap.
If I bought new, I would have bought the kartboy bushings.

I installed Kartboy shifter then a week later, I installed the kartboy brushings. However, I can't feel much differences on shifting compare with the stock. What can i do wrong? I don't have a fancy wranches, so I just tried my best to match the required touque.
