stock clutch.

the smell is not strong I couldn't smell it inside the car. But its noticeable when I get off the car and right next to the front of the car.

I heard from a lot of people that little burning smell with new clutches is normal, or am i still dreaming?

If this is not normal what could have cause it? I don't gun the car or anything. In fact, I sort of baby it since its a new clutch. I had another person drive it and its the samething. Get off the car and the smell is noticable. At first I thought they didn't put it in the right way, but all the gears engage smoothly, the the thing grabs like no tomorrow. I even got it checked up by another shop and they drove it. Said everything is fine but got a nasty smell.

maybe a dead rat in the engine bay?

Maybe there's a "break in" period to it?

If you had it checked I guess you could just wait it out a little while longer, when I got a new clutch there was no break-n period with a smell or anything.......My clutch is actually louder than a stock clutch normally is.

how sure? not 100% but I don't know what else could have cause it. I looked everywhere the hood, under the car everywhere. The other shop did the samething, They even jack it up to look at the underside. Is there something I'm still missing?

maybe I should give it a week or two to see if the smell presist...

Its still kinda annoying because people thinks that I got a dead rat in the car...

update!

I think my perdiction was right. The smell isn't as strong today. In fact you can not smell it until your right next to the hood. I'm guessing it will completely go away by next week.

say bye bye to smelly rat.

Take it easy on the clutch and see if the smell reoccurs
