New Clutch Needed
Hello everyone! I am new to the community and I've read through some of threads and there is a lot of great information! My clutch is now slipping in my 2008 Impreza 2.5i hatchback. I had it diagnosed from a local dealer and unsurprisingly it is the clutch slipping for sure. Their suggestions, besides the clutch, is to replace the flywheel, throw out bearing, cover and clip. I understand that Subaru has a maintenance schedule that they recommend following. But I would like to just replace the clutch if everything is fine. I have yet to find out myself if everything the dealer states needs replacing.
I went to a clutch specialist shop today and they recommend to use Exedy clutches. I've done some research and a lot of people are happy with Exedy products. I need help finding the exact clutch I need for my car. Also since I'm there, I figure I should just replace the flywheel as well. Even if it's fine. I was thinking about getting a lightweight flywheel but I also have read that the timing can potentially become affected? I know flywheels will have some chatter. I am totally ok with that. You insight and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Exedy for a clutch or flywheel is fine, it's OEM quality.
Some people don't take well to the lightweight flywheel unless they get used to it. You can't slip the clutch as easily at low RPM, has less torque to play with.
That said, I daily on mine in stop and go traffic and don't even notice anymore. Some say new/stronger motor and/or transmission mounts help, as would a new/stronger pitch stop. I have all 3, no ish.
