Unhappy Need help guys

I am in need of all your help. My first gear is starting to grind. I have driven my car for about a year and have about 25k miles on it. Everytime I stop and put it into first gear, it will grind a little while it is going in. I am using a kartboy ss and didn't notice this problem before. I know that this is not normal. I think that Irvine Subaru and the other dealers are going to deny my warrenty. They already tried to when my check engine light came on. I told them that they should at least tell me what triggered the light and they said that if it is because of some kind of mod that I did, they said that they were going to charge me. Can anyone in this forum help me out either by advising me on what i should do or at least telling me what the problem is?

Can you tell if your clutch is completely disengaging when you depress the pedal (to the floor)? I'm not sure why the dealership would deny warranty to diagnose and repair the cause of a CEL, unless you have other mods besides the Kartboy shifter.
