My06 Wrx Trannys With No Axle Stubs?!
are 2006 wrx trannys not suppose to have axle stubs sticking out? bcuz the tranny i bought from gruppe-s has no axle stubs in them. how is it suppose to connect to the axles? do i have to buy axles stubs and take apart the tranny? or are there axles that already have axle stubs? please help!!!

i am going to add on to this-helping him out install the trans
well the new trans did not come with axle shaft(about like 5-6 inches long) in the front diff, and the front axles slide on to this axle shaft. so we tried to pull out that axle shaft out of the old trans to the new one- but no deals.... its really in there. so we ripped open the old trans, we found that the shaft had a C-clip held on the other side(C-clip is in the inside of the front diff). so we are wondering how is this a strictly bolt-on job? i am tired.... i need a beer!
The STI & WRX both use the same stub axles, WRX NON LSD use a snap ring to hold the in the front diff.
LSD front Diff. use a retainer clip on the stub axle.
for NON LSD the trans will need to be Disassembled & Reassembled.
The cost for the kit is about $110.00

what would happen if the snap ring wasn't holding the the stub?
The only way to remove the NON LSD stub axle is to Disassembled & Reassemble it.
If you manage to get the axle out! then your problems have just started, with 2 loose snap rings waiting to get stuck in some gears.
Then you have a broken trans! you do not need that.

i bought new stubs. im just gonna leave my old stubs in the tranny.

damn...... my head hurts when you said that! ahh yo CON its going to be a while before your car is going to be up and running. but we try finish ASAP! but right now i am tired and stressed..... don has told you about my situation right? well pm me your number so you can call me if want to work on the car.
