You will still skid on an AWD car. AWD isn't usually pro-active enough to stop a skid (Subaru claims the new VDC Outbacks can) before you notice it. What you will notice, though, is that its very easy to get out of the skid.

For the Legacy, I'd suggest suspension, swaybars, endlinks, brakes, etc.
