Green Slime on Transmission

I just noticed this under my car the other day; my transmission is coated with green colored grease. I have a 04 WRX with the 5speed MT. What is this, and is it anything to worry about? If not, what should I actually keep an eye out for?

Thanks in advance.

it's probably cosmoline - it's a coating used to protect corrosion-prone materials on the boat ride over here. (if your car is typical, there is probably a bunch of it on the firewall, too - a common area to get coated with overspray)
