If you broke 3rd gear, you drive the car hard.
Nonturbo gearsets are weaker than turbo gearsets.
So, if you broke a turbo gear, you're going to break a non turbo gear.

Do you still have the WRX gearbox?
If so, bring it by the shop so I can start rebuilding for you.

Also doesn't the 2.5i tranny have a different center diff gear ratio requiring the rear end to be swapped with a 3.54. As well as the clutch and flywheel.

are you making close to 300tq? if so, maybe you should think about dropping $$ on a 6spd or ppg gears

if not maybe you need to revisit your shifting
