Gearbox feels weird after replaced clutch

I recently just replaced my oem clutch with the new oem one. Drove it after and the shifter feels loosed. I have the Sti short shifter this whole time and the shift feel was always stiff. Now each shift feels lighter. I can even shake the shifter left to right while in any gears. I never had this problem before I replace my clutch. I called my shop that installed it and they said to bring it back tomorrow. Any input?

Do you have to take out the shifter in order to replace the clutch? Would replacing a clutch have any effect on my gearbox?

you have to disconnect the shift linkages to pull the tranny to replace the clutch.

they may not have reassembled the linkage properly, or left it partially disconnected. there are two stays.. one is static and connects the bottom pivot point of the shift lever to both the chassis and the tranny case, and one is movable which goes up into the passenger's compartment and connects to the bracket on the shift lever itself. if your lower stay is left off you will still be able to shift but it will be VERY sloppy.
