They have a reputation for being enthusiast friendly- they are the dealer that sold SCC the SPT kit for their project WRX I believe.

tcochi from NASIOC says the TSB number is 03-51-02 per SoA.

Took mine in today (Livermore Subaru). The service writer said the shudder was normal. Then I told him about the TSB. They ordered the new clutch assy and I should have it installed within a week.

That TSB # seems to be for a Ford Mustang...

So how many of you have actualy had this replacement done under warranty, and how many of you did it within 30 miles of Solano County?

Clutch Shudder

I'm glad I checked out i-club!!! I got on the waiting list for a WRX in March of 2001. I received mine at the end of April 2001. Within about 6 months of getting my car, I started experiencing the "clutch shudder" problem. The dealership told me that it was normal, so I blew it off for a while. Over the past year it has gotten worse though. I recently took my car back to the dealership and mentioned that I heard there was a TSB released on this problem, and the dealership agreed to replace my clutch and flywheel under warranty. Thanks for the good info guys!!! My clutch is on order.

Woo Hoo! If it applies to older RS's I'm going to blow up my clutch then have it replaced.

they only replace the flywheel if you have less than 30k. OR more than 30k and warp flywheel. So if you are above 30k and flywheel looks okay, no replacement..
