I have noticed a noise in my clutch as well, but i'm not sure if it is the same thing. Mine seems to almost click when i let off of the pedal. It doesn't always happen, but when it does it's usually right about in the middle of being released. My car is an 05 rs with about 6000 miles on it. Is this normal "break-in" type stuff, or something I should have looked at? Oh, and there isn't any negative feel in the way the clutch grabs, just the noise and slight pop in the pedal. Thanks

I have the squeak too on my 05 wrx wagon. And I don't hear it, but I can feel that slight pop in the stroke too. It doesn't have any effect on the driving, though, so I'm not worried. A lot of people talk about this, so I'm sure if it really is a problem there will be a recall. I'll bet it's just one of the idiosyncrosies of the car though.

Any other input? If it isn't something that will get worse, I probably wont worry about it, but if I can get it fixed under warrenty i might as well. I plan on taking full advantage of the warrenty, even if it isn't serious.

Ok, this little problem is starting to get inside of my head. What do you guys think, would it do me any good to take it to the dealership?

couldnt hurt, unless you have modifications. its probably just something that needs to be lubed up, my clutch creaks/squeaks sometimes

My WRX started to make a little 'click' at about 55k miles when I stepped in at the clutch. It bothered me because I could feel something at the pedal too, but it has since stopped doing it.

You paid good money for your STi. There's no harm in dropping it off for the dealer service department to check out. It might not be specific to the STi and maybe the techs have some quick remedy that worked on other manual transmission subies, too.

^^^The shift boot?!

I think we're talking about the creaking noise when you press and depress the clutch.

I just started to notice mine doing it too...gonna go underneath and see I if I can lube anything that is connected to the pedal...it's annoying!

gijow...take it to the dealership and then post what they did to fix it.

My car is going in tomorrow to be looked at. In case there is any confusion, mine is an 05 RS, I'm guessing the problem is universal within all Imprezas. I'll let you know what they say.

Sounds good...I'm very interested to know what it is myself.

Hopefully it's just a lube problem and not something crazy...my warranty is up already

Well, unfortunatly we are right back to where we started. I took the car in and dealers said that they were unable to duplicate the problem. I will be taking the car back in to have the window tint redone, they said that when i leave the car with them they will take more time to figure the problem out.
