Auto tranny problems
I have a 1993 subaru impreza type L, i have had this car since 2000, when i got it it had 69K it now has 134K in that time all i have had to do was a driveshaft recently, it has been a VERY reliable car, the only prblem is that at about 95K the tranny quit shifting at the proper points unless you "help" it ifyou know it needs to shift you let off the gas a little or hit the gas a little, at first it wasnt common, but now its kinda bad, when its cold its rough of course as soon as the revs hit 6K it automatically shifts, i had a guy in a local city who was supposed to be a subaru expert, but he didnt know what the problem was... Any ideas???? I am also looking for a tranny for this car, if i cant fix it.
Thanks,
Mark

Stupid question, but when was the last time you had the tranny fluid flushed and changed? You also might want to check the throttle linkage that leads to the transmission. It may be sticking or out of adjustment. But I don't know much about the '93 L's. It may not even have a throttle cable.
