Act clutch and flywheel rough

Ok, so after doing much research I read and was informed that the ACT clutch and ACT Streetlite flywheel has smooth engagement, especially when paired with the group n tranny mount. So I did all those things and engagement is still rough. Why is this? In 1st and 2nd gear it is pretty rough engagement. I was told by the mechanic who did it that it was vibrations from the tyranny mount. Is this right? If I switch back to the stock mount will it be SMOOTH engagement like I thought it would be originally? This sucks because I spent about 500-600 more to get a smooth setup, and its not smooth!

I have a 2004 wrx sedan 5sp

Thx

ACT clutches are hit or miss. Who did you buy it from? ACT does not do warranty replacements unless you bought them from a high volume ACT dealer.

Or

Have you used a comparable LW flywheel in this car previously?

I used Speed Element in San Jose. Hot or miss?? That sucks! I had a spec six puck with some aftermarket flywheel (not sure which) I bought the car at an auction.

I read on ACT's website that It could be due to my engine not being properly tuned

That doesn't help, but I don't see it being a massive difference. Is the clutch broken in?

No, only have 150 miles on it.

It's what their website says and my car has a lot of aftermarket parts with a safety tune, rides rough. I'm waiting to get it tuned until my clutch is broken in. I'm going to GST Motorsports.

Again it's hit or miss (per Andrewtech, which is why they don't like selling them anymore). My current street disk is intolerable. It grabs like a 4-puck. My last one was perfect and smooth.

I appreciate your input. I chatted with an ACT tech today and he said the chatter lasts for the first 300 city miles. If it persists he said to contact then again.

If yours suck call ACT!
