'99 Legacy GT
blue-baru: I *think* you might be able to do it if the drive shaft diameter and the rear axles diameters match up. If they aren't, I don't see why you couldn't just jank the rear axels off a WRX.
I don't feel comfortable telling you outright "yes, it can be done" but I do think its possible. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable then me will reply, but if not, try talking to a mechanic you trust. Also, if there are any Subaru tuners in your area, you might want to try asking them too.

would it be possible to just bolt on a diff from a 2000+ GT? Anybody know if the ratios are the same? Or is a completely different drivetrain?
blue-baru- yeah, SAABs rock. I sold my last one, a Black "88 SPG to my best friend and still regret it- wonderfull car! The first one I had taught me about understeer and Swedish crash-worthyness in one 5 second period. Ate a tree going 'bout 30 mph and drove away from it (slowly). AWD is SO much better up here in Alaska, where we have the highest per capita Roo ownership, but not a single tuner
