When my car is cold my clutch acts really funny. It's like I'm not giving it enough gas and the whole car shakes. It makes me really mad cause I know how to drive a clutch and I know that the problem isn't me. Recently I talked to someone who was selling his 02 WRX and he said that he had just got his clutch replaced because of a recall? I called the local Subaru dealer and asked them if there had been a recall and he said no, but some of the early WRX's had a problem with clutch chatter. Is this my problem?

 

There is a lot on the forums about this problem, look under transmisson and clutch. In a nutshell, it may be a problem in wrx's, it may be covered by warranty, and it is usually worse in the cold or wet. The replacement clutch from the dealer may be a bit heavier to reduce "chatter". If you have modified or abused the drivetrain (e.g. raced the car), it may not be covered.
