You'll have to excuse me as I'm not sure where this goes or if the topic fits.
Alright, the victim: Subaru Impreza 2001, 1.6L Automatic.
Is it possible to convert it into a STI/WRX/?
I mean, swap for say EJ20T? or even 2.5L turbo engine?
swap the tranny and make it AWD? is that possible?
What are the necessary steps?
If someone could detail everything out it would be much appreciated.

Yes it is possible. It has been said that subarus are like lego's, they are very interchangeable. Any model from 92-07's drivetrain can be swapped with a little work. This has been discussed many times so you can just search it so i dont have to explain. I will say that you can change it to AWD, you can put a 2.5L turbo motor in, and you can make it a 6speed.

Some people told me that STi has a different chassis... Meanning I can't swap in an STi motor...
Are you one hundred percent sure about this?
Cause' I'm about to go on with the project if what you are saying is true...
I just need to be 100% sure it will work... Hope you understand
I'd like to hear more opinions if its possible.
Thank you.

To my knowledge the front subframe is different on the N/A Imprezas from the turbocharged ones. You would have to swap a subframe from a WRX or an STi.

Nope, I'm not doing the swap myself since I don't have any experience whatsoever.
I just have money, my passion and love for cars.
Thanks for everything, I appreciate everything that has been said here.

the only thing needed to be changed for n/a to turbo is that u will need to change the crossmember in rfont of the gearbox because the dump pipe fromthe back of the turbo hits the standard 1 while the other has an indentation in it that allows your exhaust to pass over the top also wiring loom ecu fuel pump will also need to be changed 2. in short putting the motor in the car is easy but making the engine manament run it is a pain but definatly possible. as fender strat said they are like lego i have a twin turbo b4 motor in a 90 model liberty/legacy wagon so there is 12 yrs differnce between the age of my car and the half cut i raided the motor from. so good luck with the project.
