There is more to just having the wiring diagrams of both cars. When a swap is done on equal quality cars, same ABS module, same HAVC sys, HID lights, DCCD Controller, etc... Some of these systems tie into the ECU. So not only do you have to rewire for the different engine, you also need to rewire for all other non engine items. Now comes the real challange...what if the connectors from one harness to another don't match, etc 2004 STi to MY02-03 WRX engine to cabin harness??????

The V7 (2004-2005) STi everything will fit into a 98 RS (and look stock at it). I quoted in another post that the total cost was around 10k for us, but we're good friends with the shop down in Hawaii. As for the BS comment, we got our wreck 04 BRAND NEW (40 miles) for less than 10k.

far fetch but worth it to me
i wana turn my loyal in to a rally car. first i wana get rid of the back part and cut it off to look like a truck than swap out the engine and supention and convert it to a manule transmisstion. stick a roll cage in it and custum fabricate a boddy kit.
