Sti engine and tranny swap

I recently aquired a totalled 05 wrx sti. The chassis is ruined but the engine(including turbo and exhaust), ecu, wiring harness, transmission, rear diff and as far as i know the suspension and wheels are good too.
I was wondering what it would take to put all of this into a regular 02 wrx that i have an opportunity to buy cheap. I was quoted around $4000 just to swap the engine/ecu. Honestly if i'm going to do the swap i want at least the engine and tranny (6MT and DCCD are awesome). How much labor should it cost to do the whole swap for the parts I listed above or at least the engine and tranny?

Also i'm open to other options. Could i put all of these parts into a 1998 impreza coupe? That would be faster right (less weight)? But in that case i would definately want the upgraded sti suspension to be swapped for sure.

i think he was joking, if not, im sorry that i ruined ur chance at a nice STi engine :-\ . All the swaps between most subaru engines to a different chasis are relatively simple. 4000 is pretty high for just a ECU and Engine swap considering u can get a brand new sti engine, ecu, full exhaust, turbo, all harnesses and installed for 8000. if u find a good shop i;d say the most would be like 5000 but i could be wrong.

I come across them all of the time if anyone is in the market for one. I'm part of a nationwide salvage auction network. I actually just bought a WRX out in cali that I need to unload before friday or I'll have to ship it over here to NY.

The short answer is -- it will all fit, with some minor modifications. But you can get EVERYTHING in. This is basically what I have, 02 RS chassis with complete 04 STi swap.

may i ask how much money you paid to do all this? SOunds quite expenisve unless you're doing alot of the work yourself. Most people would say sell your wrx and buy an sti. Great project though.

I've spent alot, but I don't mind since it's a one-off car especially here in hawaii where it's chock full of 04s and 05s, its' nice to have something different. The STi was mine to begin with, so I don't feel that I wasted any money.
