its all in the wiring. once the two harnesses have been spliced together, you throw some cats on and off you go to the smog ref...provided you dont have a CEL, which im 120% sure LIC will make sure you do not, and I would imagine Garage Tuning would do the same as it really defeats the purpose, but yes, Garage Tuning charges less, but they are further away. Just depends on what is more important to you. Just keep one thing in mind...you get what you pay for. LIC's price is a little higher because Adam personally inspects all parts to make sure they are in perfect working order. If you go through him, and he find the motor, which then turns out to be a bunk motor for whatever reason....he replaces it. Also, Adam and Noah of LIC are good buddies of mine. Ive seen their work, and I know Adam doesnt quit until it is done the absolute right way. I cant make you choose, but I can certainly vouch for all the work LIC does...simply top notch. I know if you choose LIC you will be very happy with the end result as well as the quality of work. I encourage you to continue doing what you are, researching. Ive been doing so ever since I learned of the swaps 3 years ago. Hope all this helps.

hey patrick thanks and yea it helps. i will continue on with my research and hopefully i will know who to choose in the end. im glad to hear of how great LIC is and im sure they are good at it as well. i just wish i had some friends like that lol. that way i can save money but instead i have friends who can swap hondas and acuras only. im the only suby owner out of my friends. and if i do decide to go with LIC i will probably need to save alot more than i had expected. i love my car to death now and if i do the swap, id have to sleep with my car everynight lol jk. but anyways yea thanks for the info. these types of major work require research. maybe a swap will be further in the future for me since it costs so much or i might even take it upon myself to do. ive seen some guides from I-Speed Usa but i know it is alot harder than it sounds. I-Speed charges way too much for a swap IMO. also i been meaning to ask but always forget, will my stock tranny (2.5RS) work good or well with a WRX or Sti? i dont want to have to pay for a new tranny and have it installed all together. if id have to do that too id end up paying more for the job than my cars value. well anything helps.

If you are careful with ur shifts...your RS tranny should last a while. Adam did his swap 3 years ago, to a US EJ205, runs full turbo back and uppipe, an AVCR and thats about it....but he beats the living hell out of it, many many track days, drag too. His RS tranny is still hangin in there. It depends on the motor you ultimately choose and how you drive. It would be a good idea to change the tranny, or maybe a gearset like the RA gears, they will work with your stock RS tranny case I believe. The RS tranny really isnt all that bad, but if you are running anything around 315-350 through it, I dont know how long it will last, and these JDM STi engines are putting about that out at the crank.
