I ran into a problem. I did a auto to manual swap in my RS. Except the guy who sold me all the components didn't match the gearing between the trans and the diff. I have a 4.11 LSD and a 3.9 trans. I have access to a 3.9 open diff. Can I the swap the LSD unit into the 3.9 diff or can I swap the 3.9 ring gear with the 4.11 LSD. I can't drive it with these unmatched ratios. The diffs are both from legacies. One from a 01 Legacy L and the LSD from a 00 Legacy GT. What do I need to do to make this happen??

 

sure. easy. put the proper ring gear set on the LSD and you are done. its easily done - just pull them apart and swap. it'll take a little while to figure out how to pull apart if u havnt done one before, but its really not bad.

 

if u swap stuff around make sure the ring and pinion stay together as they are matched sets!
