2005 STi injectors on a EJ22
nevermind, the sti injectors will work on the GC8 imprezas.
the engine just needed to sit overnight and evaporate the extra fuel i accidentally let leak all in the engine.

I have a set of STi 550's and I installed them but it trys to start every couple of rotations but it will never actually start, maybe its too rich? I have an S-AFC because i was running 370cc injectors before, i tried turning them up and down but always the same results.
Ive heard of people wiring a resisitor into one of the lines on their MAF wires to keep the ECU from running too rich at idle. But I dont know about on a subaru, or if running rich is even the problem.
SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!

Ive heard of some people wiring a resistor or some sort of mod like that into the MAF harness, so fool the computer into not running so rich at idle.
I dont know if this was or can even be tried on a subaru, anybody got any info?
Im running 550cc injectors on my EJ22 and its crazy crazy rich even with my S-AFC turned ALL the way down.

That's because the AFC can only alter the IDC by 50%, and the 550s are more than twice as big as your stock injectors. What turbo are you running? You may be able to switch to WRX 440s, which should help you out.

When you have an issue, try to give us as much info as possible about what you have. Also, keep it in one thread. And let's find better reasons for editing, okay?

the new STi 550's are side feed injectors, WRX injectors are top feed, so how the hell would i put those in my car without having to swap fuel rails, and i dont think they would even work with my ecu and harness.
im useing a ported TD04L, stock wrx turbo. I have the entire stock wrx turbo system, i only had to modify the JDM catless up-pipe and crossmember a little to fit it in there.
and its really gay that it ask's for a reason for the edit, so my excuse is good enough.

Okay, the STi side feeds aren't 550s, they're closer to 480 or so depending on you who listen to. Still too big. Your only solution is to get an RRFPR that will allow you to reduce fuel pressure at low rpms and idle.
And if it bothers you that much, you can omit the reason for editing completely. It's not required.

your the one whos is bothered
and when i got the injectors one of them stuck open for the 1st day, i just tapped it a little bit and then it closed and started working, so im gonna have them flow tested and cleaned later, then ill let you know what they are.
but it doesnt matter right now, im pretty sure i burnt a ring last night cause my car is smoking horribly right now, but i beat a low-mid 13's DSM last night, time for internals and rebuild, in the next 3 months i guess

QUOTE FROM PERRIN PERFMANCE
"The stock STI fuel injectors flow 550cc of fuel or 52.4lb/hr. When modified by PERRIN™ your injectors will flow 816cc/min or 77.81 lb/hr. Almost a 50% gain in fuel flow. At the stock injector flow of 550cc your Subaru will max out at 320hp-380hp (Crank HP) With the new PERRIN™ modified 816cc fuel flow rate your engine now has enough flow for 480hp-550hp. Each fuel injector is precision machined to flow in excess of 816cc. Injector "on time" is not affected by modifying OEM STI injectors. "

i would hope someone like perrin, who deals a lot in subaru/nissan injectors, modifies them, also cleans blueprints, and flow tests them as well.
and the old EJ20 STi's did use 480cc, so i would think with a 2.5L they would use something bigger like 550's
