i need help. trading cars.

So I'm trading a car for another. Straight across. Has anyone done it before? I need all the help I can get. Please and thanks.

Just transfer titles at the same time. Gifts means no tax. If I were you ask for a deposit first, then transfer 1 car. Do it again etc.

Thanks. Well, we already took each others cars. I'm not driving it around. Not sure about the other owner. Were just discussing paper work now. Haven't settled it yet. I just Dont want to get screwed over.

treat it like a regular sale. make sure what the other party is telling you is true and verify whether the car is either smooth or salvaged on the title. good luck.

and do it quickly since you already traded cars. if he totals your old car now, he could legally take his car back and leave you to deal with insurance and no car.
