trading in '04 STi for '05 STi (was: Need Help!)
Ok after receiving disturbing news concerning the new EVO MR i've decided to stick with the hometeam and trade in my 04'STi for a brand new 05' STi. The two concerning factors were 1) EVO price w/ Sunroof option - too much $$$.. and 2) My dealer said they would "at least give me KELLY BLUE BOOK value if I were to trade it in for an 05' (which would be anywhere around 23.5k-25.5k.) I got 23k miles on her and she's in good condition. My questions to you are:
1) What's an approximately "Good" trade in Value for my vehicle. Am I getting the hookup, or should I push harder?
2) Aftermarket parts BEFORE or AFTER break in? Does it matter? (Don't worry the warranty isn't an issue)
3) First Mods?? Besides the obvious driving classes. ;-P
Any and all info will be much appreciated. Thanx for your help guys.

uhh.
If you're worried about the EVO MR being faster, what exactly is the point of trading in your car for a car with nearly the exact same performance specs and losing your *** (money wise) in the process?

Look, I would just like to start fresh, while I still can.. I pretty much know the car like the back of my hand now. Getting a new 05' that I'm confident has no kinks put's a lot of the second guessing aside for me. and this time, I'm definitely gunna make the performance school my 1st priority.. I just want to enjoy what I drive, to me thats worth an extra 8k. Just my opinion, thanx anyways for the help.

Why spend money where you don't need to? It's easy to spend $5000 or even $15000 additional on your STi, especially if you like to change out engine/suspension mods, tires and rims, and sound system components on a regular basis. Why not take the money you were going to spend on the new STi and apply it towards mods and a driving school/instructional track day with your existing car. That's a lot of money to **** away...
Okay, whether you end up getting a new STi or keeping your current one, just take your time and read the Impreza EJ25T (STi powerplant) and the Engine Management forums for power mods, and of course the other forums for suspension, tires, and brake mods. EcuTek reflashes are now available for the STi and some tuners have developed bolt-on packages.
Going to the driving school first will probably give you an idea of what you want to do with the car as far as suspension mods.
